American Dad 5/10/09 Daddy Queerest Episode Recap

May 15th, 2009 · No Comments

At the beginning it shows Stan and Francine enjoying a party but Stan can’t help but be embarrassed at his wife’s social skills (laughing before the punchline of a joke, adding comments to topics she is unaware of, etc) to where he throws her into the pool. Neighbors Terry and Greg are nervous when Terry’s father, football great Tank Bates, announces that he will be coming to town for a visit. Terry is worried because his dad doesn’t know he’s gay, has a baby or lives with his partner. Though he promised he would tell him once he showed up, Terry chocked and stated he was dating Francine, had the child out of wedlock and Greg and Stan were the gay couple living across the street.

Since they are both without their spouse, Greg and Stan decide to dine out and begin to bond, even bringing in Director Bullock (who passingly mentions having had gay experiences in prep school). Impressed, Bullock invites them to a cocktail party (something Stan never did because Francine always embarrassed him). However, Stan turns out to be the embarrassment at Bullock’s party and he drunkenly reveals to Tank that his son is gay. Tank then leaves, unwilling to accept him. Stan, believing it is because Tank cannot accept his own homosexuality, crashes his ceremony. However, it is shown that Tank is not gay, he just cannot accept the lifestyle. His son gives him a choice to be in his life by accepting his ways, but Tank is unable to and walks off. Terry and Greg get angry at Stan but Francine defends him. Realizing that if Francine loves Stan for who he is, Greg and Terry don’t need Tank in their lives.

Meanwhile, Steve wanting to go to this party where the only way one can get is by bringing Beer or a Girlfriend, go to a store where a guy buys beer for kids. It is discovered that Roger is the guy and he sells the kids beer. When Hayley discovers this, she lectures Roger of what selling alcohol to minors can do. Brushing her off at first until Steve returns home, completely wasted, making out (among other things) an extremely ugly girl (Jewel from Francine’s Flashback). The shock and horror of this sight leads Roger to changes his ways and try to make up for it by spreading alcohol awareness. At a assembly for the death of a student who was drunk driving, Roger announces the dangers of what drinking can do to a youth. The students don’t seem to pay much attention until he shows them pictures of what Steve and Jewel did while completely wasted, leading the students to run out of the auditorium in horror, throwing away all of their alcohol on the way out.
