KRYSTEN RITTER, IVAN SERGEI, VING RHAMES AND RACHEL HUNTER JOIN CAST OF STARZ NEW ORIGINAL DRAMEDY SERIES, ‘GRAVITY’ SET TO DEBUT IN EARLY SPRING 2010, ONLY ON STARZ

Burbank, CA and Denver, CO Actors Krysten Ritter, Ivan Sergei, Ving Rhames and Rachel Hunter have joined the cast of the new Starz original ensemble dramedy “Gravity” (formerly known as “Failure to Fly”), set to debut exclusively on Starz in spring of 2010.

“Gravity,” follows the sometimes comic, sometimes tragic exploits of a group from an eccentric out-patient program of suicide survivors. Ritter (”Breaking Bad,” Confessions of a Shopaholic), stars as Lily Champagne, a twenty-something clinically depressed outcast looking for the love that her father never gave her. She stars with Sergei (”Charmed,” The Break-Up), who plays Robert Collingsworth, an ophthalmologist who is despondent following the cancer death of his wife, and who becomes an internet celebrity when his suicide attempt goes comically awry. He stars with Eric Schaeffer, the series’ co-creator and one of its executive producers, plays Miller, an NYPD cop who seems to be everywhere Lily is.

Also in the cast are Rhames (Pulp Fiction, Day of the Dead) as Dogg McFee, the group’s leader and a former Major League Baseball player, now confined to a wheelchair; and supermodel Rachel Hunter as Shawna Rollins, a former spokesmodel and current life coach with a penchant for much younger guys. Robyn Cohen (The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, “Starved”), James Martinez (Brother to Brother) and Seth Numrich (How to Kill a Mockingbird) round out the main cast.

Schaeffer, an actor/director/writer/producer, is behind such features as If Lucy Fell, as well as the TV series “Starved” and “I Can’t Believe I’m Still Single.” He is partnered with Jill Franklyn, who was nominated for an Emmy Award for co-writing the “Yada, Yada” episode of “Seinfeld,” and has written on numerous series. Amongst her features is the screenplay for My First Mister. Dan Pasternack (”Starved,” “Beggars and Choosers”) will be executive producer along with Schaeffer and Franklyn. Daniel Hank (”Starved”) is producer on the series.

The 10 episodes of “Gravity” begin production later this month in New York City, where Schaeffer is based. Starz’ production and distribution sibling Starz Media is producing “Gravity” and will handle worldwide distribution on the half-hour series.
