Stan and Francine celebrate their twentieth wedding anniversary, and Roger takes over the planning. Francine, however, stops her regular beauty regimen after learning that Stan only married her for her looks, and becomes incredibly unattractive. The two of them attempt to try and make their marriage work, but Stan finds it difficult to see past Francine’s appearance, so she throws him out. In desperation, he has his retinas removed, rendering him completely blind.

Surprisingly, being blind causes Stan to actually listen to Francine, taste her cooking, and so on allowing them to fall in love all over again. This comes to a halt when Stan points out that Francine would have to be the provider for the family since he is now blind. Stan and Francine both realize that they married for shallow reasons: Stan wanted an attractive wife and Francine wanted to be taken care of and not to have to take care of someone. Despite this, they realize they do truly love each other and go through with the renewal, with Stan regaining his eyesight and Francine taking up her beauty regimen again. Their third renewal is forced to take place in a pizza parlor due to budget restraints.

In a set of side stories, Steve and Hayley are desperate to find an anniversary gift for their parents after being threatened by one of Roger’s personas they fail to do so and Steve is cut by said persona . They end up fleeing to Argentina and are followed by Roger,who is working in Argentina as a wedding planner and a prostitute. Meanwhile, Klaus is upset after Stan brings home a blind fish from the CIA lab that soon kills itself from swimming back and forth into the sides of the fish bowl. He later has sex with the body.
