Supernatural 5/6/10 “Two Minutes to Midnight” Episode Recap

May 9th, 2010 · No Comments

Dean and Sam finally hear from Castiel again, although it seems that his actions to wipe out some angels has led him to be stripped of his powers; he’s now human. Dean and Sam go after Pestilence, but before he can kill them, Castiel shows up and cuts off the Horseman’s finger and takes his ring (using the last of his angelic strength to resist Pestilence’s plagues), but not before Pestilence tells them that “its too late.”

Bobby reveals to the brothers that he sold his soul to Crowley in exchange for Death’s location, and after a heated discussion about whether Sam should say yes to Lucifer or not in order to make him go back into Hell, the brothers split up; Sam, along with Castiel and Bobby, head out in order to find and contain the Croatoan virus (disguised and being distributed as a swine flu vaccine), and Dean with Crowley to find Death and get the last ring.

Before parting ways, Crowley reveals to Bobby he was nice enough to add something to their deal, and Bobby then discovers he has regained feelings in his legs and is able to walk again. Sam, Bobby and Castiel head to the virus’ shipping warehouse and are able to contain the virus and shoot those who have been infected by it. Dean and Crowley locate Death, Death explains that he is tied to Lucifer through a spell. Death also explains that he is “as old as god, maybe older”, and that one day he will reap God also.

Dean is surprised when Death offers him to give him his ring, but there is one condition; make Sam say yes to Lucifer and throw him back into Hell. Dean lies and agrees with Death and he receives the ring and instructions on how to use all four of them to trap Lucifer. Castiel also reveals to Sam that Michael did go along with Plan B; his new vessel is now Adam, the third brother.

“Two Minutes to Midnight” is the 21st episode of season five of Supernatural and the 103rd episode overall. It first aired May 6, 2010 on The CW network.
