Stefan and Elena decide to spend a weekend at the old Gilbert family lakehouse, unaware that they’ve been followed by Tyler and Brady, who want Elena for a ritual to break the curse before the vampires. Jenna starts to worry that Alaric isn’t being honest about his past with her. Jules and her one werewolf friend explain the significance of the sun and moon curse to Tyler but fail to tell him about the sacrificial role of Elena in it and lure him into helping them if he wants to get rid of non-deliberate conversion to wolf form.
Damon meets Elijah on tea at the Historical Society in order to resolve some questions about the original vampires and a sacrifice of doppelgänger, but he is not in mood to tell him anything. Bonnie seeks the help of Caroline and Jeremy to perform some hypnotic witch act on Luka in order to get some information about the originals and relationship of his father and him with Elijah, which leads them to know about the whole reality of Elijah’s plan to kill Klaus by making him vulnerable after sacrificing Elena.
Jules by taking help of her other werewolf friends torture Damon at his house for the moonstone, but Elijah makes a visit and kills all the werewolves. Jules escapes to save her life. Brady with the help of Tyler grabs Stefan and leaves him with Tyler with a gun in order to find Elena, but as soon as Tyler finds out the reality of the curse, he frees Stefan who kills Brady to save Elena.
Meanwhile, Jeremy and Bonnie confess their feelings toward each other and share a kiss. Tyler, before leaving town with Jules, meets Matt and asks him to take care of Caroline.
“Crying Wolf” is the fourteenth episode of season 2 of The Vampire Diaries and the 36th episode overall. It first broadcast February 10, 2011 on The CW Network.
