LOS ANGELES, California Time may be running out on 24, one of the most innovative and acclaimed dramas on television, but fans can relive every heart-pounding minute of the show’s final season when “24″ Season Eight arrives on December 7, 2010 to Blu-ray and DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Additionally on December 7, fans will also have a chance to experience all 8 days of Jack Bauer when “24″ The Complete Series arrives in a collectible DVD box set.

In “24″ Season Eight, New York City is the backdrop and Emmy Award(R) winner Kiefer Sutherland is back as rugged counter-terrorist, Jack Bauer. Just when he thought he was leaving the dangerous life behind to be with his daughter and her family, Jack is once again called on by CTU to uncover a Russian extremist plot to assassinate an Islamic leader during peace negotiations with U.S. President Taylor. Fan favorites Elisha Cuthbert, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Cherry Jones, and Annie Wersching are joined by new faces Anil Kapoor, Katee Sackoff, Bob Gunton and Freddie Prinze Jr. for Jack’s final, nail-biting 24 hours protecting America’s freedom.

Seconds later C.T.U. agents storm the room. Pillar suspects her of complicity with Jack but cannot find the card on her. Jack, in order to delay Pillar a few seconds longer pretends to whisper something about the card, and as Pillar bends down to try to ascertain what Jack is muttering, Jack bites his ear off. Despite the creative diversion Cole and Chloe are arrested before they can upload the data on the card, which Logan later presents to President Taylor, who watches Jack’s video. Logan implies to her that they must have Jack killed if the peace is to last, and she acquiesces.

However at the signing ceremony, she changes her mind about the treaty just before signing it and confesses that she has been involved in a conspiracy to bury the various crimes committed throughout the day. She attempts to have Logan’s ambush of Jack’s medical convoy called off, but is unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Logan finds out that his involvement is known. He kills Pillar and then attempts to commit suicide. At CTU, Chloe takes charge again and locates Jack. He is just about to be executed when Taylor orders his assassins to stand down and get out.

On the phone, she apologizes to Jack and explains to him that she has already withdrawn from the peace treaty signing and that she will soon announce her resignation and will accept her punishment, whatever it may be. She tells him that he will have to do the same, but advises him to get out of the country as the Russians and Americans will both be after him. Both Chloe and Taylor promise to buy Jack as much time as they can for him to escape, but neither are sure exactly how much he’ll have. Jack, seen on the drone’s camera monitor at CTU, thanks Chloe for having had his back all these years and makes her promise to protect Kim. She does so and orders Arlo to cut the drone’s video feed. When he does, the screen goes black and the clock counts down instead of up, from three seconds to a series-concluding 00:00:00.

“Day 8: 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.” is the 24th episode of season 8 of 24, the series finale and the 192nd episode overall. It originally aired May 24, 2010 on FOX.

Cole Ortiz, on the orders of CTU Director Chloe O’Brian, locates Jim Ricker and persuades him to comply in the ongoing search for Jack Bauer. Jim destroys all of his data, leaving the video in Jack’s possession the only evidence of the conspiracy. Former President Charles Logan informs President Taylor that Russian President Yuri Suvarov was complicit in Hassan’s assassination. Jack uses agent Pillar to infiltrate the UN. Jack attempts to execute Pillar but shows mercy and can only pistol whip Pillar rendering him unconscious and leaves him in the trunk.

Dalia Hassan refuses to sign the peace agreement in light of the possible Russian involvement in her husbands death. President Taylor threatens to expose the failed dirty bomb plot if Dalia does not sign the treaty. Jack sets up a tactical sniper position in a building across from the UN, anticipating Suvarov’s arrival, intent on killing him. Chloe finds Jack, who incapacitates her with a rear-naked choke. Jack then places the cross-hairs on Charles Logan and forces him to lure Suvarov within range of Jack’s shot.

Chloe regains consciousness and persuades Jack not to shoot Suvarov as it would start a war. He decides to follow her plan to get the evidence of Russian involvement to media all over the world, ordering her to shoot him so he can pass the data card from his phone to her. She hesitates, but does so just before the forces Cole has ordered into the building reach her. Pillar suspects her of complicity with Jack but cannot find the card on her. Jack pretends he has something to tell him and bites his ear off.
