Everyone’s favorite secret agent is back in the final season of the action-comedy “Chuck” as series star Zachary Levi (“Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel”) returns as Chuck Bartowski — a regular guy who also happens to be the government’s most vital secret agent.

“Grimm” is a new drama inspired by the Grimm’s Fairy Tales and stars David Giuntoli (“Turn the Beat Around”) as a Portland homicide detective who discovers that he is descended from an elite line of criminal profilers known as “Grimms” who are charged with keeping balance between humanity and ominous mythological creatures.

With General Beckman’s aid, Chuck intercepts the transport carrying Volkoff, only to find that he’s too late, as Decker has removed the original Intersect from Volkoff, effectively returning him to his previous identity as Hartley Winterbottom, who has no recollection of the last thirty years. Hartley administers iridium-5, an antidote to the Norseman’s effects, to Sarah but it only slows her condition. Mary then remembers that Volkoff had developed a stronger antidote, but it’s locked up at Volkoff Industries in Moscow. As they leave the hospital, Chuck, Casey, Mary and Hartley are captured by Decker and brought to Castle, where Decker removes the Intersect 2.0 from Chuck. Casey is able to break them out and stays with Mary to give Chuck and Hartley a chance to escape.

Chuck and Hartley go to Volkoff Industries, where Hartley begins to lose confidence in his ability to impersonate his former persona and runs off. With no other choice, Chuck removes his disguise and allows himself to be captured and brought to Vivian, where he begs her for the cure. Vivian refuses and prepares to shoot Chuck, but before she does, her father returns and attempts to reason with her, explaining that he went undercover voluntarily. Vivian refuses to relent, believing that she has no choice but to follow the path she is on.

However, Chuck produces discs containing clean fabricated identities given to him by Casey and intended for him and Sarah, so that Vivian and her father can start a new life. With the cure, he returns to Burbank, where Decker is waiting for him. A standoff occurs, but as Chuck is backed up by a superior force made up of his friends, family, the C.A.T. Squad and Russian Special Forces, Decker is forced to stand down. Chuck threatens to leak everything about Agent X to the press if Decker threatens anyone he cares about. He then rushes in to give the cure to Sarah.

The scene then cuts to Chuck and Sarah’s wedding. As they drive off in their limo, they receive a call from Hartley, who tells them that he has left them a very special present under their seat. Flashing forward to two weeks later, Chuck has returned from his honeymoon and it is discovered that the Buy More has been sold. He goes down into Castle, which has been cleaned out and a box of his belongings are sitting on a table. Decker then appears on the monitor, teasing him before implying that Chuck has been a pawn in a larger game. He says that it was no coincidence that the Intersect came to him and he had to face Fulcrum, the Ring, Shaw and Agent X. Casey figures that there’s some conspiracy controlling their lives but doesn’t figure that they have any business getting involved, since they’ve been fired by the CIA. However, Chuck then reveals that Hartley sent him and Sarah all of Volkoff Industries’ assets, giving them almost a billion dollars with which they have bought the Buy More, and which they can use to set up their own freelance spy operation to investigate this conspiracy.

Morgan then spots a pair of glasses in Chuck’s box, sent from Beckman for Chuck. He puts them on and accidentally uploads an Intersect into his brain.

“Chuck Versus the Cliffhanger” is the fourth season finale of the American action-comedy television series Chuck. Aired on May 16, 2011, it is the season’s 24th episode, and the 78th overall episode of the series. The episode was written by series co-creator Chris Fedak and Nicholas Wootton.
