This fall, a wicked new housewife arrives to Fairview when the multi-talented Vanessa Williams joins the Season Seven cast of ABC’s “Desperate Housewives.” Fresh off her stint on Broadway’s “Sondheim on Sondheim” and the critically-acclaimed series “Ugly Betty,” Williams will play a housewife who’s sure to shake things up in the neighborhood and wreak havoc in the lives of the women of Wisteria Lane.

Williams is one of the most respected and multi-faceted performers in entertainment today. She has conquered the musical charts, Broadway, music videos, television and motion pictures. She has sold millions of albums worldwide and has achieved critical acclaim as an actress on stage, in film and on television. Recently she co-starred in Disney’s feature film “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” and her latest album from Concord Records, “The Real Thing,” is available now. During a Suarez family meal, Ignacio (Tony Plana) tell Betty to stay in New York as the English food isn’t nice. Hilda (Ana Ortiz) and Bobby mention that they are looking for an apartment, but are keeping it a secret from Ignacio. Hilda then encourages Betty to tell Daniel (Eric Mabius) about her new job in London. While picking out photos for the 100th issue of MODE, Betty goes to confess to Daniel that she’s moving to London, but he interrupts her and asks her to write a profile piece on him for the issue.

Wilhelmina wakes up from her coma to see Connor (Grant Bowler) standing over her. He tells her that he’s been allowed to visit her and reveals that he can’t live without her. Claire also visits and tells Wilhelmina that she wants Tyler’s name kept out of the investigation and offers her money to keep quiet. Marc overhears Betty talking to Hilda about the job in London and sends a text to all the staff at MODE, forcing Betty to tell Daniel, but she discovers that he already knows and he tells her that he is fine with her going. When Betty goes to get her contract release form from Daniel, he burns it in front of her, but ends up burning himself.

He tells her that he is angry that she is going and doesn’t want to release her from her contract. Amanda tells Marc that Spencer screened her call and Marc tells her that Spencer is her father, Amanda then worries that Spencer will reject her. Claire talks to Daniel and asks if he has feelings for Betty, which Daniel denies. Daniel then tells Betty that he can’t live without her and offers her a promotion, which she turns down. Bobby tells Ignacio that he and Hilda are moving to a place in the city and Hilda worries that Ignacio will be lonely without them.

Wilhelmina holds a press conference and announces that Claire didn’t shoot her and that she shot herself cleaning her gun. Claire thanks her and Wilhelmina says that they are good. Daniel doesn’t show up to Betty’s farewell party and Claire tells Betty that losing her is very hard for him. Spencer arrives and tells Amanda that he already knows she’s his daughter and that he loves her. Justin (Mark Indelicato) encourages Marc to go talk to Troy and they get back together. Wilhelmina congratulates Betty and tells her that she has ‘big balls’ for leaving MODE.

Daniel tells Wilhelmina that he’s stepping down as editor of MODE and gives her the job. Wilhelmina then visits Connor in jail and tells him about her plan to get his sentence reduced. Betty says a tearful goodbye to her family, she is then seen in London where she bumps into Daniel. Betty asks him if he needs a job as she’s looking for a new assistant and Daniel tells her that he might submit his resume.

“Hello Goodbye” is the twentieth and final episode of the fourth season of the American comedy-drama series, Ugly Betty, and the 85th episode overall. “Hello Goodbye” is also the final episode of the series following its cancellation in January 2010. It first aired on ABC in the United States on 14 April 2010.

“Hello Goodbye” – It’s the end of an era, but the beginning, Betty hopes, of something wonderful. She tells Marc (Michael Urie) that she has her first client, soap opera actor, Spencer Cannon. Justin (Mark Indelicato) arrives to talk to Marc about Bobby seeing him kiss Austin. He’s worried that Bobby will tell everyone and he doesn’t want anyone to know yet. Tyler tells Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams) that she is the only one he can trust and that he just wants his money. He also tells Claire (Judith Light) that he knows the truth about everything, Claire then tells him that she will give him nothing. Claire also goes to confront Wilhelmina and they end up fighting and falling into a pool of water.

Amanda is getting on well with Spencer and she tells him that she will set him up with Marc. Marc tells Amanda that he doesn’t want to be set up as he is still getting over Troy. He later changes his mind and Amanda tells him that she’s invited Spencer to the wedding. Betty and Henry meet up and he tells her that he has an interview that means he’ll be moving back to New York. Betty agrees to have breakfast with him the next day. Hilda (Ana Ortiz) asks Bobby why Justin is always going off with Austin, but Bobby tells her that nothing is going on. Hilda then realizes that Justin and Austin are a couple. She then calls Betty to tell her that Justin has a boyfriend, Betty goes to her apartment and finds Hilda and Ignacio (Tony Plana) preparing a coming out party for Justin. Marc arrives and tells them that a party is the last thing Justin would want.

On the day of the wedding, Justin brings Austin and Ignacio brings Elena. Henry doesn’t attend the wedding and Daniel arrives dateless, he then tells Betty that she looks great. During Hilda’s speech, Daniel glances at Betty when Hilda talks about knowing someone better then they do and that you would do anything to protect them. Betty decides to accept the London job and Justin takes a big step too, when he leads Austin to the dance floor and all of his family smile. Marc tells Spencer that he is looking for a proper relationship and Spencer tell him that he only came to the wedding to please Amanda, Marc then spots Spencer’s Tweety Bird tattoo. Wilhelmina realizes that Tyler has taken her gun and goes to warn Claire, but she is too late and Tyler arrives. Wilhelmina then tells them that the situation is all her fault and tries to get Tyler to hand over the gun. Just as he goes to hand it over, the gun goes off.

At MODE, Tyler asks Claire (Judith Light) about his father, instead of telling him that Cal Hartley rejected him, Claire lies and tells him that she met his father in rehab and the records have been lost. Tyler runs into Betty and she tells him that Daniel (Eric Mabius) will come around eventually. Daniel sees them and asks Betty if she is on ‘Team Tyler’, but she tells him to grow up. Marc (Michael Urie) brings Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams) some clothes from the mall and she tells him that she must dress down in order to win Tyler over and make him a pawn in her plan to bring the Meade empire down. Betty talks Daniel out of going to London Fashion Week and decides to take Hilda there for her bachelorette party.

Hilda, Betty and Amanda (Becki Newton) arrive in London and meet up with Christina (Ashley Jensen). Christina tells the group that she recently held a fashion show and is now a famous designer. She introduces Betty to a publisher, who asks her if she’ll fill in for a fashion columnist. Betty has to attend fashion shows, so the others go off sight seeing. When Betty meets up with the girls she finds that they are getting drunk and Betty decides to join in. During a drinking game, Hilda dares Betty to flash a stranger in the bar and she agrees, but the stranger turns out to be Gio (Freddy Rodriguez). He invites Betty to hang out with him for the rest of the night and they leave. During their walk, Gio tells Betty he is engaged and that he thinks MODE has become Betty’s path and that she is has turned a steppingstone into a career. Betty gets offended and returns to Hilda. Betty wakes up a hangover, but goes to her interview and is offered a job as a permanent columnist. However, she turns the job down when she realizes that fashion is not what she wants to write about.

Daniel takes Tyler out for the night and apologizes to him. When he mentions that Cal is Tyler’s father, Tyler calls Wilhelmina and tells her that he wants a drink. Wilhelmina encourages him to have a drink and Tyler gets drunk and fights with Daniel. When Amanda returns to MODE she tells Marc that she’s leaving to pursue her dream of being a stylist. Claire gets Daniel from jail and she tells him that Tyler is an alcoholic and that he didn’t know who his father was. Wilhelmina has bailed Tyler out and he tells her that he is going to take his share of Meade.

Bobby goes to talk to Justin about why he has been acting strange around him and why he doesn’t want to go to a Beyonce concert with him and sees Justin and Austin kissing. Justin sees Bobby and asks him not to tell anyone, even his Mum. A message from a drunk Betty is playing on an answer machine and Henry (Christopher Gorham) appears and is happy to hear that Betty wants him to come to Hilda’s wedding as her guest.

Claire (Judith Light) has come back from France and Daniel (Eric Mabius) is cold towards her as she lied to him about Tyler. Amanda (Becki Newton) later tells Daniel that she is getting serious with Tyler and Daniel tells her to leave. At the editors meeting, Daniel announces that he has secured the ‘Million Dollar Bra’ for a cover shoot. Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams) is surprised that Daniel’s done something right for a change, until she reads the itinerary for the bra and tells Daniel that the Bra is due to be shipped to Cairo at the same time as the shoot.

Betty tells Daniel she will contact her friend, Alison, who works for Eve, the president of the company that owns the Bra. Betty goes to the Guggenheim to meet Alison, but is stopped by security and when she produces her ID, the security man doesn’t believe it is her. Her braces then set off the metal detector and Betty yells at the guard. She then gets tackled to the ground by security and hits her head. When she wakes up, Betty finds that she is in a It’s a Wonderful Life type dream sequence and she beautiful and rich. She no longer has braces and is working at MODE as Wilhelmina’s right hand woman. Dr. Frankel is her guardian angel and explains that because she had perfect teeth, everything is different. Hilda (Ana Ortiz) is the ugly sister, Justin (Mark Indelicato) was never born and Daniel and Amanda are married. When Betty finds out that she and Wilhelmina had planned to sabotage the ‘Million Dollar Bra’ shoot, Betty tries to change the course of events, but ends up hitting her head again. She wakes up to find herself back in the real world and thinking Wilhelmina is going to steal the Bra, Betty rips off Wilhelmina’s shirt before backing into the Bra and getting her braces stuck to it. Dr. Frankel then arrives and removes Betty’s braces.

Daniel apologizes to Amanda and says he is okay with her and Tyler’s relationship. Tyler sees them hug and confronts Amanda, who tells him that Daniel has given them his blessing. Tyler isn’t happy and Amanda tells him they need some time apart. Back at the Suarez house, Betty is celebrating with her family and eating the foods that she couldn’t eat before with her braces. The doorbell rings and Justin opens the door and finds Austin standing there.

An angelic Dr. Frankel shows her how different her life would have been had she never worn braces. She’s the “pretty sister,” while Hilda is homely, Ignacio is a compulsive gambler, Marc is a doting dad and Amanda is married to Daniel.
