Anna’s queen egg hatches and has a skin put on exactly like Lisa’s. Thinking she is the real Lisa, Tyler mates with the fake Lisa, after which the fake Lisa kills him while the real Lisa is forced to watch the whole thing from her dungeon. Meanwhile, Ryan finds his daughter Amy, and tries to convince her to escape with him off the ship, but instead, Amy kills him by strangling him then snapping his neck with her tail. Not knowing the fate of Ryan, Erica tries to contact him but is unable to do so.

Erica also finds Hobbes is missing, but is then kidnapped and taken to a secret underground bunker a mile underneath Manhattan. The bunker houses Project Ares, a secret cabal of top ranking military and government officials (including Erica’s FBI boss) who have long suspected the Visitors’ real intentions and are preparing for a war with them. Upon reviewing video of the fake kidnapping of Lisa, Anna suspects Chad was involved and requests that he be brought to see her. Later, Anna tries to put Bliss on the whole world but it again causes her immense pain and makes her eyes bleed, only more so this time.

Amy sees what Anna is doing and tells Anna that she can Bliss the world for her, which she does. The only people who do not appear affected are those inside the underground bunker at Project Ares. Erica emerges from the bunker to find everybody, including Jack, is under the control of the Bliss. More motherships reveal themselves across the globe to enslave humanity forever.

“Mother’s Day” – Anna is focused on having Lisa breed with Tyler to ensure the evolution of the Visitors, while Erica and Diana enlist Lisa to stage a coup against Anna and remove her from power before humanity is destroyed. Erica and the Fifth Column join Lisa in the attempted coup, which has devastating results, on the shocking Season Two finale of “V.” Also in the episode, Marc Singer, who played freedom fighter Mike Donovan on the original “V” series, will guest star as Lars Tremont, a member of a top secret organization of high-ranking military and government leaders from around the globe who have long suspected that the Visitors are very much not here in peace.

Acting on a tip from Lisa, Ryan gets to the reactor just in time to deactivate it. This causes a blackout in greater New York, but Anna gains a public relations victory when blame is placed on existing systems and her engineers quickly restore power. Chad’s co-anchor Kerry is fired when he feeds her false information to protect his facade of siding with the Visitors. Marcus meets Diana, who tells him Anna’s human emotions (which Diana says go as far back as when “pride” led to Anna overthrowing her) will be her downfall.

Marcus continues to side with Anna, but he then sees Anna embrace Ryan’s daughter Amy when Amy calls her “mommy” and says “I love you.” Anna discovers that she can use her Bliss on a single human, though it weakens her and causes her eyes to bleed. She orders Joshua to figure out how she can use it on masses of humans.

When Lisa explains this to Diana, Diana instructs her to act against Anna immediately to save humanity and fulfill her destiny. Joshua, meanwhile, begins to regain memories of his time as a Fifth Columnist, and informs Lisa that he remembers who he really is. When Lisa explains to Erica that Anna has used her Bliss on Tyler, Erica believes humanity is doomed.

Lisa tells her they have one last chance: Lisa must overthrow her mother and become Queen of the Visitors.

“Devil in a Blue Dress” – Anna is about to pull the switch on the planet’s first Blue Energy reactor, but Sid realizes that the size of the reactor is much too large for just the various Concordia sites – the Fifth Column needs to figure out what Anna is really up to. And Diana tells Lisa she must act against Anna now, fulfill her destiny and save humans from annihilation.

To cover up these killings, Anna reports that members of the Fifth Column had infiltrated the Live-Aboard program as suicide bombers. Realizing that the Fifth Column not only still exists but appears to be more organized, Anna dispatches Thomas to locate the new head of the organization.

Meanwhile, Ryan attempts to rescue his daughter from the mothership, and is introduced by Lisa to his former queen, Diana. Diana instructs Ryan that she has secret escape shuttles not on the blueprint of the mothership. Ryan manages to escape, but without his daughter. All parties are unaware that the daughter is immune from the pain that Anna inflicted, but Diana promises to bliss Ryan’s child. Diana also tells Lisa to reactivate one of her former loyal confiders, Marcus, who has been in a coma since the assassination attempt.

Father Jack has grown uneasy with Erica’s radically shifted stance regarding collateral victims, while Erica and Hobbes appear to be kindling a romance.

ERICA TAKES CHARGE OF THE GLOBAL FIFTH COLUMN, AND ANNA MOVES CLOSER TO HER GOAL OF DESTROYING HUMANITY

“Uneasy Lies the Head” — Erica, now officially in charge of the global Fifth Column, leads them in a high risk attack against Anna. Anna meanwhile, growing closer in her plan to destroy humanity, finds a major obstacle in a certain Live Aboard candidate; and Ryan sneaks back onto the Mothership to try and rescue his daughter.

Meanwhile, Anna discovers that Tyler’s phosphorus levels are abnormally low. While asking Joshua to boost Tyler’s phosphorus levels, he dispatches Raphael, who amongst the 29 subjects, has the best clinical data, to the New York mothership and asks Lisa to entertain him.

Lisa, Anna’s daughter & Diana begin to bond, uniting against Anna. Diana warns Lisa not to trust anyone on board the mothership, and not to reveal her emotions. However, she cannot continue her courtship of Raphael, due to her feelings for Tyler. Anna begins to doubt Lisa’s loyalty, and asks Joshua to test her. She also reveals to Joshua that she has saved one last queen egg, so that she can replace Lisa if she should fail. However, Joshua warns that they need to accelerate the new hatchlings growth, if they were to succeed. Anna then asks Joshua to experiment on Ryan’s hybrid child. As a result of the experimentation, the child grows immune to the pain that they initially put in her, so that she would need Anna’s bliss.

Erica and the Fifth Column realize that the last batch of live-aboards will be transported to the motherships soon, and Anna will have all she needs for her breeding program. As a result, they plot to stop the last batch from arriving on board the mothership.

“Birth Pangs” is the seventh episode of the second season of “V” and the 19th episode overall. It first broadcast on ABC Network February 22, 2011.

ERICA HEADS TO HONG KONG HOPING TO STRIKE A BLOW AGAINST ANNA

“Birth Pangs” — Erica, seeking revenge against Anna, heads to Hong Kong to carry out a mission to strike a lethal blow against Anna. Meanwhile, Anna learns that Tyler’s phosphorous level is too low – even after the Red Rain — and he might become useless to her; and Lisa and Diana bond, beginning to form an alliance against Anna.

Meanwhile, Erica Evans has come under increased suspicion from the FBI regarding her true allegiances. She tells Hobbes to locate Ryan, who they had found to have betrayed them to Anna to protect his daughter. Anna then tells Ryan to hunt down and kill Eli Cohn before she offers anymore help to his daughter. Father Travis tells Father Jack that he has been laicized from the church and he hands over his collar. Cohn calls Erica, informing her that they’ve caught Ryan. Ryan is found by a V tracker, and Anna has Thomas leave an anonymous tip for the FBI, thus forcing the humans to do the dirty work. Erica asks Ryan why he betrayed his allies; he explains to her about his daughter and tells them to leave, or else they are all dead.

Erica decides to feign the role of a hostage and to make it plausible, she has Cohn smack her a few times in the face. Anna says that both of Tyler’s parents should die in order for the Vistors’ plans with Tyler to continue. Joe and Tyler are watching a football game when they both see Erica as a hostage, and Joe takes off and goes down to the site.

The FBI uses a piece of V technology that allows them to see their targets inside the compound. With that the FBI is about to deliver the final blow, but then Cohn activates suicide bombers in the crowd outside, thus buying them more time. Ryan apologizes to Erica, but she simply says “goodbye.” Joe finds his way inside the compound thanks to the help of an unseen agent, likely a V. Cohn confronts Evans, letting her know that she will be in charge of the global Fifth Column.

The group, excluding Cohn, exit the compound, and the building is detonated. Hobbes is shown to be responsible for this, acting for the sake of a former lover of his who he had presumed dead but who the V’s tell him is actually alive. Erica returns to the basement and meets Chad, Jack, and Hobbes. She says that the Fifth Column is now going to go on the offensive, and now that they have an army, they are going to rain Hell on the Visitors.

“Siege” is the sixth episode of the second season of “V” and the 18th episode overall. It first broadcast on ABC Network February 15, 2011.
