NBC PICKS UP ‘CROSSBONES,’ NEW ACTION-ADVENTURE SERIES ABOUT GOLDEN AGE OF PIRATES

Series Is from Award-winning Creator of “Luther,” Neil Cross, and Acclaimed Film Producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald (“Gladiator,” “Men in Black,” “The Ring”)

NEW YORK CITY — From the award-winning creator of “Luther,” Neil Cross, and successful producing team of Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald (“Gladiator,” “Men in Black,” “The Ring”) comes an extraordinary action-adventure series “Crossbones” — with an unexpected moral center where one can’t be sure whether the pirates or the British crown are the villains.

Ten episodes of “Crossbones” have been ordered and production will begin in the fall.

The announcement was made by Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment.

It’s 1715 on the Bahamian island of New Providence, the first functioning democracy in the Americas, where the diabolical pirate Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard, reigns over a rogue nation of thieves, outlaws and miscreant sailors. Part shantytown, part marauder’s paradise, this is a place like no other on earth – and a mounting threat to international commerce.

To gain control of this fearsome society, Tom Lowe, a highly skilled undercover assassin, is sent to the pirates’ haven to take down the brilliant and charismatic Blackbeard. But the closer Lowe gets, the more he finds that his quest is not so simple. Lowe can’t help but admire the political ideals of Blackbeard, whose thirst for knowledge knows no bounds – and no law. But Lowe is not the only danger to Blackbeard’s rule. He is a man with many villainous rivals and one great weakness – a passionately driven woman whom he cannot deny.

Parkes and MacDonald serve as executive producers. Cross will write and also executive-produce the series. Ted Gold (“Three Rivers”) also is an executive producer. The series will be produced by Parkes/MacDonald Productions; Georgeville Television (GVTV), Reliance Entertainment/Motion Picture Capital’s new TV Studio; and Universal Television.

Chazz Busby starts auditioning actors for a production of a passion play. Ned auditions to reprise his role (for the 5th year running) as Jesus, but is rejected when Chazz doesn’t see enough potential in him. Homer overhears Chazz speaking to Flanders and asks to take the role of Jesus, which he gets. Homer stuns the audience with his performance and everything is going great until the cross Homer is tied to snaps and falls directly on top of Flanders, banging his head and resulting in the ambulance bringing him to the hospital.

Before the ambulance drives off, Edna wishes to speak to Ned before he goes, but is forbidden as family members are allowed only. Then, Edna reveals Ned and her are husband and wife and secretly got married (and the only people invited were Ned’s family).

As the news about Ned and Edna’s marriage spreads around town, Marge offers to have a party for their marriage and they both agree. While Ned is at a Leftorium, Edna’s goes to one of Rod and Todd’s parent meetings. Edna is disgusted by the lack of education in their school and transfers them to Springfield Elementary. That night, Flanders has a dream that Rod and Todd don’t do up to his expectations. On the day of the party, Edna and Ned get into a fight about Rod and Todd’s fashion and new vocabulary (Rod says “Dad, you need to chillax”). Annoyed, Edna leaves with the kids and leaves Flanders at the Simpsons for the night.

Ned sees Homer & Marge get into a fight and realizes that there will always be things that he and Edna will disagree on. Flanders rushes to the school and Ned and Edna make up. At the end, Homer, dressed up in Jesus costume, opens up Sammy Sam’s (which in the opening credits was the billboard ad) loan rental bank and claims to be the real Jesus until God electrocutes him.

“Ned ‘N Edna’s Blend” is the twenty first episode of the twenty-third season of the American animated sitcom The Simpsons. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on May 13, 2012.

Part 1

Lily starts going into labor, but refuses to go to the hospital until Marshall is there with her. Ted and Robin try to distract her with stories from their past until her contractions are four minutes apart, and Lily finally agrees to go to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Barney and Marshall are stuck in Atlantic City following the events of “Good Crazy” and must find a way back to Manhattan for the birth. Barney offers to help Marshall on the condition that Marshall’s first child has the middle name “Wait-for-It”. Marshal agrees, and Barney manages to secure two seats on a bus to New York — only for Marshall to realize that the destination refers to the state of New York and not New York City; its final destination is actually Buffalo. The two are left trying to find another way back to the city.

Lily starts giving birth without Marshall, and Robin faints at the sight of the birth. Marshall arrives just in time for his son to be born, whom Lily names after Marshall’s late father and honours Barney’s condition, and everyone welcomes Marvin Wait-for-It Eriksen into the world.

Part 2

Ted asks Victoria to meet him at MacLaren’s, hoping to find out if she ever got married, and she arrives in a wedding dress. Victoria then asks him to run away with her, as she has never stopped thinking about him. At first he agrees, and gets in the car with her. After some further thought, however, he hedges, saying he cannot let her leave her fiance at the altar after what Stella did to him. He tells Victoria that he is taking her back to the church so that she can go through with her wedding. However, Ted drives past the church. Ted says that he knows, indicating that he has willingly changed his mind, and he and Victoria drive off into the sunset together.

On the way to Hawaii, Barney is stopped at airport security because of a mysterious box he has placed in his luggage, the contents of which he claims he cannot reveal due to the Magician’s Code. He and Quinn are taken into questioning, where Quinn reveals that she has quit her job for Barney and is now unemployed. Barney then performs the trick contained within the box, which turns out to contain an engagement ring. He proposes to Quinn, and she accepts.

At Marshall and Lily’s apartment, Barney and Quinn arrive and announce they are engaged. As Quinn leaves the room to tell Marshall and Lily the story of the proposal, Barney asks Robin if she is okay with everything. Robin says that she knows how awesome he is, and that she is happy for him.

The episode closes with a flash-forward to Barney’s wedding, where the bride is calling for Ted. Ted opens the door to the bride’s room, where she is revealed to be Robin.

“The Magician’s Code” is the final episode of the seventh season of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. It aired on May 14, 2012, in two half-hour parts.

In the Enchanted Forest

As Prince James attempts to escape the The Evil Queen’s palace, he finds himself outnumbered by the Queen’s guards. That is, until The Huntsman shows up and takes out the guards with his arrows, thus allowing James to escape the palace on his quest to find Snow White. While en route, James, thanks to The Queen via her mirror, transports him somewhere else. James is then lead to Rumpelstiltskin and fights with him. However, Rumpelstiltskin gives Charming a mission to put a golden egg inside a dragon, and in return he will return his mother’s ring, now enchanted to guide James to Snow White.

James then goes to a castle to search for the dragon, but instead finds Maleficent, who turns into a dragon and attacks James. James throws the egg into Maleficent’s gills, and after he escapes, Rumpelstiltskin gives James the ring and a new set of clothes. James then races his way to Snow White’s glass coffin, where he opens the coffin and kisses her, waking her up. Prince James proposes to Snow White, and she says yes. She also wants to take back the kingdom, giving an opening of the Enchanted Forest.

In Storybrooke

Immediately after having eaten the poisoned turnover that resulted in his collapse, Emma rushes Henry to the hospital. Dr. Whale asks Emma if he ate anything or if anything happened, but when she shows the doctor the turnover, he dismisses the idea that it was poisoned, which leads Emma to suspect that it was magic that caused this. Upon touching Henry’s storybook, everything regarding the Enchanted Forest and magic itself enters Emma’s mind, causing her to truly believe. As Regina enters the room to see Henry, Emma violently confronts Regina, saying that she now believes the curse is real and knew about the turnover that was meant for her.

A stunned Regina finally tells Emma the truth. The two then visit Mr. Gold, who now knows that Emma believes in the curse. He tells Emma and Regina that true love is a powerful potion with the ability to break any curse, and that he imbued the curse’s parchment with a drop of that potion made from Snow White and Prince Charming’s love. Like their love, Emma is also a product of Snow White and Prince James, thus making her the only one who can reverse the curse. To end the curse once and for all, Emma will need to retrieve the rest of the potion, which lies in the belly of a beast. He also presents her with her father’s sword.

Elsewhere, David meets up with Mary Margaret and tells her he loves her and that ever since he awoke from the coma, the only thing that has ever made sense to him was her. He goes on to say that he plans on leaving town and moving to Boston unless Mary Margaret gives him a reason to stay. Mary Margaret, moved by his words, still cannot bring herself to take him back and leaves.

Before Emma goes on her quest, she first returns to the hospital where she apologizes to the unconscious Henry for not believing him. She then goes to August in an attempt to enlist his help and finds him lying in bed. But now that she believes, she can finally see August’s wooden form, which has now taken over nearly his entire body. Emma gets there just in time to hear his last words of encouragement to her before he completely reverts back into a puppet. Around the same time, Regina also apologizes to Henry as well.

Unfortunately, Jefferson has also shown up at Storybrooke General Hospital, seeking the deal he made with Regina to reunite him and his daughter. However, Regina voids the deal because Emma didn’t eat the turnover like was originally planned. As she races off to meet up with Emma, Jefferson decides to make his own plans to get even with Regina by sneaking into the underground asylum to release Belle and succeeds by giving her a chance to find Mr. Gold and warn him about Regina.

At the town’s clock, Regina takes Emma to a secret room inside the boarded-up Storybrooke Public Library/clock tower that contains an elevator, but only one person can go down while the other operates it. So Emma decides she will descend down while Regina stays above ground. As Emma arrives to the bottom, she sees Snow White’s glass coffin, then finds herself face-to-face with Maleficent in her dragon form. Emma starts fighting with the dragon, but in lieu of using the sword, she instead starts shooting at it. She soon realizes that the sword is the only way to kill the dragon. She regains the sword, and hurls it at the dragon, causing it to explode and release the golden egg containing the love potion.

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Mary Margaret is reading Henry’s storybook to him in his hospital bed. She explains to him that she gave him the book because she wanted him to know that even if life didn’t have happy endings, they could still be real somewhere. But as she speaks to him, Henry begins to flatline.

As Emma is on her way back up the elevator, it suddenly stops working. Emma hears Mr. Gold by the controls above her who tells her that Regina abandoned her. Then he tells Emma to throw the potion up to him and he’ll wait for her as she climbs up. However, after she reaches the surface, Emma finds Regina tied up and Gold nowhere to be found. Emma frees Regina and as they go to leave, they both receive calls from the hospital regarding Henry’s status and decide to go there instead of pursuing Gold. When they arrive, they learn that Henry did not survive and Emma and Regina grieve Henry’s death. A devastated Emma goes to Henry’s body, whispers to him that she loves him, and kisses him on the forehead. In a surprising miracle, this act is seen as “true love’s kiss” and as a result, Emma inadvertently breaks the curse, bringing Henry back to life and causing everyone in Storybrooke to regain their memories. Everyone also remembers who Regina really is, and Mother Superior (the Blue Fairy) suggests that she find somewhere to hide as everyone she’s wronged will be looking for her. Regina runs away, but not before telling Henry that she truly does love him. She returns to her mansion and laments her defeat.

The curse is broken just as David is about to leave town and while Mary Margaret is walking home from the hospital. Upon regaining his memories, David returns to town and finds Mary Margaret. He calls out to her, calling her Snow. She responds by calling him Charming, confirming that they both remember. They embrace and rejoice in the fact that they’ve found each other yet again.

Back at the pawn shop, Mr. Gold prepares for an as-yet-unknown plan using the potion when Belle suddenly shows up to tell him about what Regina did to her. Mr. Gold is shocked to see Belle still alive and overjoyed to have her back. He takes her with him into the woods for his plan. On their way, the curse is broken and Mr. Gold discovers that Belle has regained her memories and they once again declare their love. However, Rumpelstiltskin tells Belle they will have all the time in the world but now, they must go forth with the plan. They walk further into the woods and reach the wishing well. Rumpelstiltskin tells Belle that the waters that run beneath it has the power to return what one has lost. He drops the love potion in the wishing well, which causes a massive purple smoke to develop and spread around them.

When Belle asks what’s happening, Rumpelstiltskin tells her that he is bringing the magic that they had once lost back to their world. When asked why, he tells her that magic is power. The purple smoke spreads quickly and engulfs everything (and everyone) in town. Regina watches from her mansion and smiles, knowing that she will once again regain her dark magical powers.

The last scenes of the finale show Prince Charming and Snow White standing in the street and holding each other as the purple smoke engulfs them. The smoke surrounds the clock tower as well, causing it to start working again. The hand strikes 8:15 as the screen cuts to black.

“A Land Without Magic” is the twenty-second episode and first season finale of the American fairy tale/drama television series Once Upon a Time, which aired in the United States on ABC on May 13, 2012.

Season Finale Part 2

Olivia (Torv) and Peter (Jackson) return to Walter’s (Noble) laboratory, finding both he and Astrid (Nicole) missing. As they try to discover their whereabouts, Olivia receives a call from Jessica (Mader), believing that someone is following her. They are unaware that September (Michael Ceveris) has arrived at Jessica’s house, but finds himself stuck to a “statis rune” written into the floor preventing him from moving. Broyles (Lance Reddick) reports that Astrid has been taken to a local hospital and is faring well. She is worried for Walter’s safety, warning them of Bell’s (Nimoy) presence, and directing them to the warehouse. There, they find September still stuck on the piece of floor, and Jessica holding him at gunpoint.

She reveals she is working for Bell, and fires numerous shots from an ordinary hand-gun. September captures the bullets in his hand as fired. Then Jessica pulls out a specially designed gun that fires quicker than September can react, and the bullet strikes him in the chest. When she tries to fire again, Olivia is able to catch and repel the bullets back into Jessica, killing her.

Peter is able to release September from the rune. Olivia recognizes the wound from the time September appeared to her at the opera house and told her that in every future he witnessed, Olivia would die (as seen in “Back to Where You’ve Never Been”). September reveals that to him, this conversation has not yet happened, and departs to investigate why he would say that to Olivia.

Peter races Jessica’s body back to Walter’s lab, and with Nina’s (Brown) help and resources from Massive Dynamic, connect her brain to equipment to briefly give her consciousness to determine Bell’s location. Her answers are vague and cryptic but reveals that Bell is seeking a power source to collapse the two universes. Olivia goes to grip Jessica, shorting out power in the laboratory. Nina realizes that Olivia is Bell’s power source; Jones’ activities have been to invigorate Olivia’s powers to start the collapse of the two universes. Nina is able to use Olivia’s electromagnetic readings to locate Bell’s ship. The Fringe team sets off for Bell’s boat on helicopters as initial signs of the final collapse begin to occur around the world.

Meanwhile aboard his boat, Bell has shown Walter his vision for the new universe, using the creatures stowed aboard it to populate his ideal world. Bell reveals that he was set on to this path by Walter in the past after Walter lost both Peters and had desired to play God himself. Walter had rejected the idea then, asking Bell to remove pieces of his brain to quell the idea, but Bell continued to follow on Walter’s vision, culminating in the current events.

The Fringe team approaches where Bell’s freighter appears to be, but find that it has already become in sync with the other universe and only observable by Peter. Olivia is able to use her Cortexiphan abilities to cross over with Peter onto the freighter in mid-jump from the helicopter. They raid the cabin where Bell and Walter are. Peter attempts to stop Bell, but Bell asserts that the process is irreversible due to Olivia’s powers. Walter then turns to Olivia and shoots her in the head with a hand-gun, completely disrupting the collapse. His plan ruined, Bell rings a bell and fades away as Walter hesitates to shoot him. Walter races to extract the bullet from Olivia, recognizing that the Cortexiphan should be able to regenerate the tissue and allow her to live.

Bell’s freighter and biological experiments are stored away, and the US Government grants Broyles’ request for a funding increase, as well as a promotion to General. Olivia makes a full recovery, though Walter suspects that her Cortexiphan powers will be stunted by the process. As she and Peter hug, she also reveals that she is pregnant with their child. Sometime later, as Walter prepares a snack in his lab, September appears before him, telling him, “We must warn the others. They are coming.”, referring to hostile Observers from the future (as seen in “Letters of Transit”).

“Brave New World” is the two-part finale of the fourth season of the Fox science-fiction drama television series Fringe, and the series’ 86th and 87th episodes overall. It first aired May 11, 2012 on FOX Network.
